30 Rock and Philosophy – Audiobook Review

William Irwin has written several Philosophy books based on television and movies. From The Simpsons, and Seinfeld, too the Matrix and Hunger Games. This book is not a humor filled book like those written by Tina Fey, but one looking at the philosophical ideas that run throughout NBCs TV series 30 Rock.

Plato, Aristotle, and Kant share the pages of this audiobook with Liz Lemmon, Jack Donaghy, Tracy Jordon and Jenna Maroney, with special attention to the squeaky clean Kenneth. How are the ideas put forth in 30 Rock relevant to philosophical theory.

Narrator Tom Dheere expertly relays the tone and ideas of William Irwin’s book linking the ideas of television comedy to those of philosophical greats. Knowing what type of book this is will keep you from being disappointed.
